Doug Clinton is a managing partner and co-founder at Deepwater. Doug is a member of the investment committee; he also serves as co-founder and CEO of Intelligent Alpha. Prior to Deepwater, Doug was an equity research analyst at Piper Jaffray where he covered Apple, Google and Facebook. Doug was also an early employee at Enpocket, which was acquired by Nokia.
Gene Munster is a managing partner and co-founder at Deepwater. Gene is a member of the investment committee and head of portfolio research. Prior to Deepwater, Gene spent 21 years at Piper Jaffray where he served as a managing director and senior equity research analyst covering Apple, Amazon, Google and Facebook.
Andrew Murphy is a managing partner and co-founder at Deepwater. Andrew is a member of the investment team and leads firm operations. Prior to Deepwater, Andrew was a senior marketing manager in Ecolab’s Healthcare division and spent 5 years at Piper Jaffray as an equity research analyst where he covered Apple, Netflix, and Adobe, among others.
Joe Robillard is a managing partner at Deepwater. He is a member of the investment committee and the portfolio manager of Titan and the related managed accounts. Prior to Deepwater, Joe was managing member, and Chief Investment Officer of HHR Asset Management. He spent thirty years at HHR including twenty as the CIO. He brought Titan and the associated entities to Deepwater in mid-2022.
Mike Olson is a venture partner at Deepwater. Mike leads the venture capital portfolio and is a member of the investment team. Mike previously served as chief financial officer of PowerUp Acquisition Corp. and the chief financial officer at Version1. Prior to Version1, Mike spent 19 years at Piper Jaffray, where he served as a managing director and senior equity research analyst covering the internet, video game, and digital media sectors.
Brian supports the research team alongside Gene Munster. Before Deepwater, he spent seven years at Protiviti in the Risk & Compliance practice. He holds a finance degree from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School and studied at CIMBA Italy.
Mitchell focuses on growth equities across market caps. Prior to Deepwater, he was a global equity analyst at Principal Asset Management, specializing in mid- and large-cap tech companies. He holds a B.A. in history from the University of St. Thomas and an MBA from UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Will joined Deepwater in 2017 and works across public and private investing. He supports research and idea generation for the public equities portfolio. He holds a finance degree from the University of Denver.
Steve focuses on public equity investing and has supported both public and private markets since joining Deepwater in 2017. He previously worked in private equity consulting, conducting customer and market diligence across industries. He holds a B.S.B. from the University of Minnesota.
Mira leads operations at Deepwater, driving efficiency, growth, and compliance. She brings experience from venture capital and sustainable food tech, with a focus on HR, ops, and project management. She holds a B.A. in Quantitative Economics and Political Science from the University of Minnesota.
